Why Vermeer Continues to Inspire Me
Johannes Vermeer transformed ordinary interiors into unforgettable moments. A figure reading, playing music or turning towards the light becomes part of a larger mystery. His carefully balanced compositions and glowing blues and yellows create a stillness that feels almost timeless.
In my own paintings, I explore that same meeting point between observation and imagination. Some works revisit famous subjects; others picture Vermeer himself and invent scenes that might have existed within his world.
