Original paintings of London
My original oil paintings bring the vibrant, historical London to life; right in your own home. The winter scene shows Big Ben peeking out of a light blanket of snow with flakes lazily settling onto the city. While the nighttime sky casts its purple hues onto the black city skyline.
Each of my paintings captures the feeling of being in London during the winter and spring months. I aim to give my works an atmosphere that draws you into the painting, one which transports the viewer to a time and place where they feel comfortable and at peace. I do this by taking special care to add texture, texture and highlights to bring life to the pieces.
When creating my work, I pay careful attention to the shapes of the buildings and the light effects from the winter weather. The London landmarks in my works are framed and weathered in order to capture the character and charm of the city. The sky is carefully selected to create a backdrop to the subjects which I want to draw attention to. The winter landscape provides the ideal setting for my art, as the fresh white snow contrasts the dramatic scenes which are filled with dark hues.
My attention to detail can be seen in every stroke. I use traditional methods and apply oil painting techniques, such as palette knife and layering of paint to produce unique images. My art also consists of mixed media, with the combination of oil and charcoal being most prominent.
The paintings express an appreciation of London during the winter, conveying my emotions in each painting. As I take on each project, I capture the richness and charm of this beautiful city, bringing to life what has inspired me in a very real way.
